Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Locarb ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Locarb mobile application and related services (the "App").

Privacy-first, offline by default. Locarb does not require an account. All your personal and health data stays on your device — we don't upload it, sync it, or store it on our servers.

1. Information we collect

• Health & lifestyle data: weight, height, age, biological sex, activity level, dietary preferences, goals, logged meals, and progress photos you choose to upload.
• Usage data: device type, OS version, app version, crash reports, and anonymous analytics events.
• Food search data: queries you make against the in-app food database (see Section 5).

2. How we use your data

All your data is kept local and offline on your device as part of our privacy-first approach. It is used solely within the App to generate and personalize your keto meal plan, track your progress, and power day-to-day coaching. We do not transmit it to our servers, share it with third parties, or use it for advertising.

3. Legal basis

We process your data based on (a) your consent, (b) the contract to provide you the App, and (c) our legitimate interest in improving the service. You can withdraw consent at any time.

4. Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with processors that help us run the App (hosting, analytics, crash reporting, email delivery), under data-protection agreements.

5. Third-party services

Food and nutrition information in the App is powered by the FatSecret Platform API. When you search for a food, your query is sent to FatSecret to return matching results. We do not send your account identifiers or health profile to FatSecret.

6. Data retention

We do not retain any of your personal data — there is nothing stored on our servers. All data lives on your device and is deleted when you clear the App's data or uninstall it.

7. Security

We use encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, scoped access controls, and regular security reviews. No method of transmission is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data using industry best practices.

8. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) you have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.

9. Children

Locarb is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

10. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated in the App or by email.
